VoxType is a macOS application designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what data VoxType collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.
VoxType processes audio input locally on your device for speech-to-text transcription. Audio recordings are not transmitted to any external server. When you use the AI refinement feature, the transcribed text (not audio) may be sent to third-party AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) using API keys you provide. VoxType does not store your transcriptions or refined text on our servers.
We use anonymous usage analytics to improve VoxType. This includes feature usage counts and crash reports. No personal content (transcriptions, refined text, or audio) is included in analytics data.
When you choose to refine text using AI models, your text is sent to the AI provider associated with your configured API key. Each provider has its own privacy policy. VoxType does not control how these providers handle your data. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies.
